Blessings in a Backpack
Imagine going home and not being sure if you are going to have anything to eat. This is the reality for many local children. Scary thought, huh. We thought so too, so The Summit participates in Blessings in a Backpack. Blessings in a Backpack is an organization that sends at-risk kids home with a backpack full of things for them to eat over the weekend. Blessings in a Backpack meets every Thursday night at Albertville Elementary school. The Summit's night is the 3rd Thursday of every month, but any Thursday you can go, we encourage you to go.
Blessings in a Backpack was voted 2012 Charity of the Year!!
Better test scores, improved reading skills, positive behavior, improved health and and increased attendance have all been attributed to the success of this program
